What happens if the internet connection drops mid-inspection?

No data is lost. The session stays active for 2 minutes to allow for reconnection. If the call drops completely, all evidence is saved locally and auto-syncs to the cloud once online. For weak signals, users can manually trigger a "High-Quality Pause" to send clear high-res images without relying on a laggy video stream.

Does the auditee (the person on-site) need to download an app?

No. The person on-site does not need to download an app or create an account. They can join the call instantly by clicking a link sent via SMS test message, WhatsApp, or email.

Where is the data stored, and who owns it?

You have three choices for data storage, giving you full control over ownership:

  1. XMReality Managed Cloud: Stored securely on AWS (Amazon Web Services) in Ireland.
  2. OneDrive Integration: You can link your own Microsoft OneDrive, so the files are instantly saved to your company's storage, not XMReality's.
  3. Local Storage: You can choose to save data only on the local device.

Does the tool automatically generate a report?

Yes. You leave the session with documentation already completed. XMReality automatically compiles videos, images, notes, and AI-generated transcripts into a complete call report that is instantly available for export.

Can I annotate live video?

Yes. XMReality has multiple features to improve your inspections and audits:

  • Hands overlay: Your hands are superimposed over the video feed (using AR) to gesture or point as if you were on site.
  • Live pointers and drawing: You can draw, use arrows, or write text on the screen in real-time.

Is the data secure and encrypted?

Yes. Live calls are end-to-end encrypted (E2E), meaning even XMReality cannot view the live stream. Stored data, any files saved to the cloud, are encrypted both in transit (while uploading) and at rest (while stored on the server).
